Ellie has a long history of training and show experience. She has ridden and trained with Joe Wolter, Buck Brannaman, Buster & Sheryl Mclaury, Doug Jordan, Randy Reiman, and LK HorseSense, among others. Ellie’s experience on the show circuits include American Quarter Horse Circuit where she competed in Horsemanship, Equitation, Showmanship, and Trail and placed Top 5 at Congress. Ellie was also an assistant trainer at a show barn during her time on the Quarter Horse show circuit. In her youth, she competed in Michigan Interscholastic Horsemen’s Association and 4-H. She went on to coach multiple teams and students to state and regional MIHA championships in all disciplines. She has competed in and trained students in trail, showmanship at halter, horsemanship, HUS, and jumping.
Ellie loves to help people find or regain confidence on the ground and in the saddle wether it be their first time riding, coming back from time off or after a bad experience. She believes that knowledge brings confidence to both horse and human. Helping horses find balance, confidence and peace is a cornerstone of her approach for training. There is no cookie cutter approach to training horses or teaching people. While she works to get back into the show ring horsemanship and thinking from the horse’s perspective will always come first. Training horses are worked with in an individualized plan wether the goal is to show, trail ride or get started under saddle.
